Yesterday was the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival, and mooncakes, a traditional Moon Festival pastry, were served all over the Eastern (and Western) world.

Red Cook runs through some highlights in commercial production of mooncakes, and then offers the recipe for the snow-skin mooncake pictured above (hint, it contains a cherry-almond filling).

A Tiger in the Kitchen walks its readers through a more conventional recipe for “sea-foam” colored, cube-shaped, confections.
